About the Company

Dotmenu, Inc. is comprised of a group of dedicated people with a passion for food. When it comes to eating, we are very much like our customers. We eat at home, at work, at school and on the go. Sometimes we watch what we eat and other times we could care less as long as it tastes good. So, we decided to build products that make it easier, more useful and convenient for people to find and interact with restaurants.

Dotmenu, Inc. is a privately-held company headquartered in New York, NY.

Our Beginings

Back in 1997, a University of Pennsylvania junior, Michael Saunders, had a craving for a tuna sandwich. While studying for exams, Michael called one of his favorite restaurants wanting to satisfy his late night hunger. As circumstances would have it, the first two calls ended in a busy signal. On the third call, he was placed on hold and then disconnected. Finally, when the food arrived, it had pickles; a definite mistake.

Pickles on a tuna sandwich are enough to push people over the edge it seems. It certainly was for Michael. Armed with just enough knowledge of programming to make him dangerous, he set off to build an efficient online commerce model for ordering food from local restaurants. Many years and a lot of tuna sandwiches later, Dotmenu is changing the way restaurants and their customers interact through the use of the Internet.

Management Team

Francis Blot - Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Blot became Chief Executive Officer of the Company in January 2006. He brings more than twenty years experience building consumer-focused services for companies in the media, technology and online markets. Most recently, Mr. Blot was Executive Vice President of Worldwide Business Development for Vivendi Universal Games. For the past 11 years, Mr. Blot has held executive management positions at Vivendi Universal Games, Flipside, Uproar, PrizePoint Entertainment (co-founder) and PointCast. Mr. Blot holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Utica.

Michael Saunders - President and Founder

Mr. Saunders founded the Company while at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. He has served as Chief Executive Officer from inception through December 2005 and continues to play an integral role in the Company’s development in his capacity as President. Mr. Saunders holds a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Computer Science.
